The purpose of the Northwest Kodály Educator (NWKE) Scholarship is to provide partial funding to teachers toward study at Kodály certification programs in the United States. For 2019, NWKE will provide between 1 and 3 scholarships for $200 – $500, based on the number and quality of applications and essays.
Applicants must currently teach music or be actively involved in music education. Applicants will be judged on their essay, and attendance and/or participation at NWKE or OAKE events. Scholarship recipients will be asked to write a reflection of their experiences and/or present at a future chapter event.
In order to remain impartial, applications will be judged in a blind review: that is, all references to names will be crossed out before the committee judges the applications.
Applications are due June 1, 2019. Notifications will be sent no later than June 15, 2019
